Second meet in class (21-2-2013)

1. Teaching and Testing

Look at this carefully !

"We cannot go until we have finished our discussion"

Question by:

Teacher A : Analyzes the sentence into clauses and determine the kinds and functions of clauses.

Teacher B : Rewrite the sentence in another way but do not change the meaning.
                  Begin with the word "when ........"

Nah, ngerti gak?. Kalau kita perhatikan baik-baik, pasti kita tahu mana teacher yang mengerti "the goal of learning a language" dan nggak.
Yuk bahas!

Tujuan kita belajar bahasa itu apa sih?
Tujuan kita belajar bahasa itu supaya kita bisa menggunakannya untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. So, the goal is "COMMUNICATION".

Teacher A: (test about language) just ask you to analyzes. And usually, you like this methode. But, it's so wrong. Why?. Of course your student feel unneed to say it. It will teach them be passive student.

Teacher B: (test about using the language) ask you to rewrite, but the teacher also ask you to say it again with "when.......". So, your student will say their argue in front of class. And when they say it, it's mean your student is trying to communicate with you and his/her friends.

2. Teacher-made test and Standardized test.
    
     Different?. Yes! It is so different.
     Where?

      a. Teacher-made test
          - test is made by construction teacher
          - In format: can be Subjective and Objective
          - Participant: small member
          - Tester: student know the tester
          - Based on: curriculum, silabus, and objective
          - Score: Many score, like activities, task, and so on
          - Teaching process: should be prayer after test #kwkwkwkw, I'm not sure about this
          - Test maker/administrator/score: by one person

       b. Standardized test
          - test is made by construction by institutional abroad/goverment
          - In format: Objective
          - Participant: large member
          - Tester: student doesn't know the tester
          - Based on: national and international standar
          - Score: first test. So, one test to one score
          - Teaching process: shouldn't be prayer after test #kwkwkwkw, I'm not sure about this
          - Test maker/administrator/score: many person who will handle it

Debate and Discuss

Aku baru belajar tadi malem sieh tentang debate and discuss
hmmm
jadi, berdasarkan kesimpulan tadi malam yang aku dapat
1. Discuss is a problem solving together our grup with sharing ideas each other. And we can take a c0nclusion in the end of speech.
2. Debate is how to stand with our opinion, idea, or argument. We can’t sharing with other speaker. Here, we should say why we can get an argue like that. In the end, we don’t have a winner to our speech.
